Kozel

Larger Dark

3,5% vol

Produced following the original recipe, Kozel Dark is a dark lager with the colour of a Porter, thanks to the use of 4 different malts, but it is surprisingly refreshing, precisely because it is a lager. The perfect balance between the aromas of sweet caramel and fresh hops give it a soft but never cloying taste. The low alcohol content makes it suitable for many occasions, and very popular with women.

History

Kozel was first brewed in 1874 in the small village of Velké Popovice in the central region of Bohemia, using only the best ingredients. Many villages have a village square in the center; instead, the village of Velké Popovice has its brewery. Kozel means “billy goat” in Czech, as for generations the employees of the brewery have been taking care of a billy goat, a living symbol of tradition and the inhabitants’ sense of hospitality.
