History

The Raffo Beer Company was founded in Taranto by entrepreneur Vitantonio Raffo in 1919. The history of Birra Raffo of Taranto and that of Birra Peroni overlapped in 1961, a period of brilliant growth in the market and beer consumption driven by the Italian economic boom. Ten years later, thanks to the industrial and technological investments made by Peroni in the Taranto factory, production doubled in volume. The Raffo brand was kept alive by the Peroni Group, respecting the history and local tradition of the brand, until it became the iconic brand in the area that it is today.
