Pilsner Urquell

4,4% vol

This beer is characterized by an intense bitterness and an interrupted fermentation that leaves a conspicuous quantity of residual sugars. The balance between sugar and bitterness gives this beer its peculiar, unique organoleptic characteristics. Intense aroma of hops of the finest variety (Saaz).

History

Pilsner Urquell is known as the beer that changed the way the world views beer. October 4, 1842 was a real revolution, marking the birth of the first golden beer in the world and setting the standard for all lager beers produced ever since. The success of this new Czech beer and the numerous imitations it has inspired has led to the terms “pilsner” and “pils” being used all over the world to indicate an entire category: low-fermented lager. However, Pilsner Urquell is the only one that truly deserves to be called Pilsner.
